Records Request
GRAMA Requests
The Government Records Access and Management Act (GRAMA) is the records law for the State of Utah. GRAMA defines what a record is and establishes the criteria for accessing government records.
- Submit a records request online through the State of Utah Open Records Portal.
- Select North Tooele Fire Protection Service District as the Agency Name.
Tips on submitting requests
Be as specific as possible with the types of records that you are requesting. When submitting a request please be specific and include things like:
- Subject
- Dates
- Names
- Addresses
- Type(s) of Records
- Incident Reports - Please list the date, time, location, and call # (if known) of the incident
Fees
- STAFF TIME (includes time required to search, compile and otherwise prepare to provide a record).
- If a charge is imposed, the first 15 minutes of research and response is provided to the requestor without charge. If research, manipulation, or preparation of information such as redaction, pixilation, and/or scan time is required, an hourly charge of $35.00 may be assessed if the task takes longer than 15 minutes.

Fee Waivers
- In some instances, fees may be waived. GRAMA encourages waiving the fee when the request benefits the public rather than a specific individual. GRAMA also encourages the waiver of fees if the requestor is the individual who is the subject of the record - or the guardian. A person who believes that there has been an unreasonable denial of a fee waiver may appeal the denial.
- If a requestor has not properly paid for previously requested materials, NTFD will hold the current request until the outstanding payment is paid in full for previous requests.
